okay, so i don't have 101 things yet. and they're all out of order since i had to reorganize them into vaguely relevant categories. i was in a rush! because if i start this tomorrow, on the 26th of march, 2009, then the 1001st day will hit right on my 24th birthday. which is pretty sweet.

so.

The cold.

It hurts.

IT PHYSICALLY HURTS.

Took the horses out to Seneca Road this afternoon, where I found out that the pony has an adorable jump even over bigger obstacles (by which I mean an 18" log. whatever, it was awesome) and will do anything to avoid getting his front hooves wet. Including courbettes and croupades, going downhill in the mud. If his endurance career doesn't pan out, I suppose I could always sell him to the circus.

My ears still hurt from the cold.

+ Kicking ass and taking names at WiiDR 3.

+ Went on a perfectly socially-acceptable date. )

+ ohhhh so much sugar crash. Since 1PM today I have eaten four jumbo marshmallows, half a bar of chocolate, a quart of caramel apple cider, an Andes mint, and a small IceBerry frozen yogurt with pomegranate seeds and sprinkles.

+ IceBerry much inferior to Yogato. And to add insult to injury, more expensive!

+ There's a TLC special on dwarf adoption.

MLIA.

Won the office party limbo contest.

IN HEELS.

And then rocked out all the way home to ABBA, with prize #1 (a bottle of 1800 Reposado) in my lap and prize #2 (a shot glass garter) around my leg. \m/

There was a plate of cold bacon on the stove when I got home from work today. Like maybe 10-13 slices.

I ate it.

All.

Ohhh, man, I feel kind of gross now. But it was so worth it. It's cold outside! And I just ordered WiiDR 3, which means I'll probably burn it off in the next few weeks.

...maybe.

Today is gonna be the day
that they're gonna throw theconr back to you.

Which song was this lyric from?

Get your own lyrics:

(Um, ouch?)

(But it's significantly less emo than 'imagine there's no theconr, it's easy if you try'!)

Today was the epitome of Day Off. Woke up at 7, went back to sleep until 11, went out to lunch because sometime you just need to eat Thai food, and then went to Leesburg with my mother, where I ended up finding a pair of heels that a) are cute, b) were affordable ($30!), and c) EXISTED IN A SIZE 5. Holy god. This NEVER HAPPENS. Generally, once you get to a size 5 (or the equivalent in children's shoe sizes, which is something like a 2) the only kind of cute that exists involves velcro, or possibly light-up heel inserts. But these! I found them at the Brown Shoe Closet. Satin, peeptoe, which I usually don't like but was willing to accept, ankle strap and a little sparkly blob of embellishment. Adorable! I was so excited I bought them in black AND in teal.

Ate the Last Pomegranate (I'm not buying any more this season, I swear) and some pasta, took a bath, watched some TV, read some books, reduced my Wii Sports age to 24.

Got ridiculously excited about the trailer for the Sherlock Holmes movie.

Tomorrow'll probably be a long day, but it's also a payday, so I'm willing to take what I can get. (I'm hoping that what I can get will be in excess of $900. WE'LL SEE.)

Yeah, no, definitely still allergic to wheat.

(Come on, universe, you couldn't let me have CHICKEN NUGGETS?)

(BUT THEY'RE SO GOOD!)

Some days it just seems like my life is a hole in the ground, and the only thing I've got to help me out is a shovel.

On the bright side, Yogato is still delicioussss.

I am tired, as Ryan would say, like the kitten.

Tuesday was awesome. )

Wednesday, unremarkable.

Today, remarkable, but only because I was called in to work (damn me for living less than ten minutes from the office!), and I am disgruntledly unused to having to work Thursdays. Elena called me at 8:30 because Catherine couldn't come in, so I staggered in by 9 and kind of zombie-day'd it. Ah well. I suppose it's employment justice for taking the 30th off.

I'm tempted to apply for a job at PR Newswire - they've got postings for an editorial position, which I'd love - but .. it's a noon-to-nine job, Monday-Friday. Blaaaah.

Maybe if it's still open in a few months when Erica comes back to the office, I'll take it as divine intervention and go for it.

I need a nap.

Ohhh I am a mess. Sliced off a chunk of my finger razoring the pony's mane yesterday, and now it seems that every time I move it/touch it/breathe it starts bleeding again. I think I'm singlehandedly (singlefingeredly?) driving up the value of Band-Aid stock.

But it was totally worth it for the pony to look less like a hobo.

Cornmeal scones = good. Nick Hornby = good. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess en route to my mailbox = better be good. I have high hopes.

It is already shaping up to be a long week, but the monotony of work is broken up around seeing the Pixies on Tuesday. Oh yeah. I am indeed un chien andalusia.

After two weeks of outgoing call aggravation with the LG Neon, I've given up the ghost and upgraded to the LG Incite instead. (The name is not promising. I am easily enough incited as it is.) Not that it's really an upgrade - the Incite has been sitting in its box in a cabinet above the refrigerator for the six months or so, it's just that no one's actually gotten around to using it.

It's so shiny! And I feel kind of bad having a smartphone and not using the internet with it, but honestly I really hate using the internet on phones/ipods. The screen is tiny, the images are all squashed, the download speed is ridiculous, I'd just really rather have a computer instead.

BUT SO SHINY!

+ So for lunch, I loaded up a GF english muffin with brie, toasted the whole thing until it was starting to smoke around the edges, and ate it with frozen pomegranate and some inappropriate noises, because OMG. SO GOOD.

+ Took a three-hour nap in ten-minute increments.

+ My mother sent me an email telling me that I need to get out of the house. MY MOTHER. The sad part is that she's right. So instead of sitting in the basement and reading for three hours,

+ Went to Borders and read for three hours.

Blah blah blah. )

Apartment hunting still a bust. I've still got time, though! *crosses fingers*

Super Mario Galaxy is going to send me into convulsions.

I spent 45 minutes just now trying to beat Sweet Sweet Galaxy (it is not anything that the name implies). It's basically made up of flats of dough with cookie shapes cut out, except the dough is actually a series of conveyor belts, in the sky, crossed over by electric tape.

At the end of 45 minutes I had collected so many star bits I actually had six extra lives, but still had NOT BEATEN THE GODDAMNED COOKIE DOUGH.

*sobs*

In news completely irrelevant to other peoples' more significant problems, I really hate low-calorie/diet versions of drinks. It just. Augh. I can taste the difference, no I don't care if you tell me that sucralose is a sugar derivative, that stevia is an all-natural product, whatever, I don't care, THEY TASTE DIFFERENT, and it is completely abhorrent to me. It leaves this flat, empty taste in my mouth that I can't stand, like the idea of sugar is echoing around between my teeth, and every time they replace a drink I like (Minute Maid pomegranate tea, shut up) with an artificially sweetened low-calorie version, I just want to die a little bit inside.

(Especially when I go to the grocery store, get overexcited about juice sales, and make it home with four bottles of the stuff before realizing my mistake.)

Screw YOU, obesity's influence on the beverage market! If I want my juice, I can EFFING WELL HANDLE ALL THE CALORIES IN IT. GIVE ME BACK MY GODDAMNED HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.

+ Downloaded World of Goo, which is honestly one of the best games ever. EVER.

+ Found an ant crawling on my shoulder in the bath the other day. Never taking a bath again.

+ My mother told me today that it's a good thing I'm not a hooker, because I wouldn't be a very good one.
